Raoul Kraft lives alone in the forest where he runs a timber company. One morning, he learns that his 18-year-old son has died in a car crash. An everyday road accident, concludes the police. But a young woman, Diane, arrives from Paris with troubling revelations. It may not be an accident after all. She tells Kraft about experimental medications and pharmaceutical corporations. His son was part of the testing protocol for a new medication. The drugs’ side-effects could have cost him his life. Kraft can’t believe her, but goes up to Paris to investigate. What happens next would seem to vindicate the young antiglobalization activist’s allegations. Pursued, attacked, shot at... They go on the run but continue to investigate.
